Penrose is located in Australia, on the southern boundary of the Southern Highlands, just 160km south west of Sydney, where the manicured paddocks, hedges and gardens give way to the rugged beauty of Morton National Park, known for its deep gorges, gullies and wide array of flora and fauna.

Penrose is located nex to Bundanoon, popular since the 1920s as a tourist destination. Bundanoon has fine old guesthouses, an excellent health retreat, cafés and antique dealers, so you will be able to find all you need. Penrose also has its own traditionnal general store that is a combination of a coffee shop post office, and the train station is just accross the road!

 

The village is only a few minutes from easily accessible lookouts where one can see striking views along the spectacular sandstone escarpments. Australia unique location to see pine forests blend with native forests.

You can also follow William Street, in Bundanoon, to the east of town, to find the sandstone grotto known as Glow-Worm Glen, best seen at dusk. The 11 km of roads and trails that run through Morton National Park make it popular for bike rides.

 

Penrose area is a charming destination that has remained unspoiled for almost a century, it was once known as the honeymoon capital of Australia.
